Maryam Nawaz Monitored Punjab Flood Situation During Japan Visit Azma

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz kept a close eye on the province’s flood situation even while she was visiting Japan. Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari shared this update during a press conference held in Lahore on Wednesday.

Azma Bukhari said Maryam Nawaz held meetings while on the plane and remained in constant contact with provincial officials. She was regularly updated about rescue and relief efforts happening in Punjab. This allowed the chief minister to make timely decisions despite being abroad.

The Information Minister also said that Punjab had already prepared a strong and coordinated flood response plan. All relevant departments and institutions were on high alert to deal with the situation. Azma Bukhari mentioned that India’s sudden release of water was expected, and Punjab took precautionary steps beforehand.

So far, no deaths have been reported in the recent floods. However, the Ravi River has reached its highest level in 38 years, which is a serious concern for the province. Because of this, the Pakistan Army has been called in to support relief work in several affected districts.

Maryam Nawaz’s active monitoring and timely coordination have been praised by local officials. They believe her efforts helped improve the response to the floods. The chief minister continues to keep the safety and wellbeing of Punjab’s residents as her top priority.

Authorities remain alert as weather forecasts predict more rainfall. Relief teams are ready to assist people in vulnerable areas. The government urges everyone to stay safe and follow official instructions.
