Ahsan Iqbal Calls On Youth To Lead Pakistan’s Journey Toward Progress

Federal Minister for Planning, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, has called on Pakistan’s youth to lead the country’s journey toward progress and development. He made these remarks while speaking at a seminar held at the Islamic Research Institute.

The seminar, titled “The Role of Youth as Global Leaders in an Emerging Pakistan,” was organized to mark Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day. The event included a flag-hoisting ceremony, a cake-cutting, and the opening of a national book exhibition.

The International Islamic University and the Ministry of Education and Professional Training jointly organized the seminar. A large number of students attended the event, showing strong youth engagement.

Ahsan Iqbal, who was the Chief Guest, said the next two decades are critical for Pakistan’s future. He urged young people to join what he called the “Marka-e-Taraqqi”—the battle for progress. He stressed that national development depends on peace, unity, and discipline.

He warned that political polarization and sectarian divisions are holding the country back. Ahsan Iqbal encouraged youth to promote civic responsibility and reject hate.

He also discussed the importance of modern technology in shaping Pakistan’s future. He highlighted artificial intelligence (AI) as a key tool for better governance and efficient systems. According to him, AI is no longer optional—it is a necessity.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government’s Udan Pakistan initiative is aimed at bringing the country back onto a modern path. He noted that failure to keep up with global trends since 2018 had hurt national progress.

Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar, the Guest of Honor, highlighted the role of education in national growth. She praised the youth’s support for Pakistan’s ideology and their online activism during challenging times.

Speakers at the event agreed that the youth are Pakistan’s most valuable asset. Their unity, responsibility, and energy can guide the nation toward peace and prosperity.

The national book exhibition was officially opened by Wajiha Qamar, reinforcing the theme of learning and development.
