YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, has emerged as a key figure in the betting app scandal, with the Cyber Crime Agency exposing major earnings of influencers tied to illegal gambling apps.
The NCCIA revealed that Ducky Bhai made up to $20,000 (around Rs5.5 million) for each promotional campaign. Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry said more than 40 betting apps are operating in Pakistan, generating billions, with dozens of promoters already under probe.
He added that foreign bookies hire YouTubers and influencers to promote gambling apps, noting Ducky Bhai alone ran over 50 such campaigns.
Authorities declared 46 platforms illegal, including Aviator Game, Chicken Road, 1xBet, Dafabet, 22bet, Pari Match, Bet365, Plinko, 10cric, Rabona, and Casumo. Officials also warned that many of these apps steal users’ personal data and mobile numbers.
The PTA has received the list of banned apps and will block them, while investigations into Ducky Bhai continue. He was arrested at Lahore Airport while attempting to leave the country after his role in these promotions came to light.
