Britain’s King Charles III conveyed heartfelt condolences to Pakistan after devastating monsoon floods and a helicopter crash during rescue efforts, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported Wednesday.
In his message, the monarch said he and Queen Camilla were “deeply saddened” by the tragic loss of life, destruction of homes, and displacement of communities. He expressed sympathy for all who lost loved ones, livelihoods, and shelter.
Emphasizing close ties between the two nations, King Charles III noted the strong bonds between Pakistan and the UK, highlighting the many families in Britain with deep roots in Pakistan.
He also commended the courage and dedication of emergency services, volunteers, and locals who are working tirelessly to save lives and provide aid. The King admired the resilience of flood-hit communities and offered prayers for their recovery and rebuilding.
Pakistan has faced relentless monsoon rains that have killed more than 700 people, injured hundreds, and caused widespread destruction to homes, roads, and markets. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern regions were hit hardest, with flash floods claiming at least 400 lives and displacing thousands.
Recent Pakistan floods left 420 dead and thousands homeless. All Pakistanis and overseas are giving donatins for helping these flood affected people.
