PM Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the entire federal cabinet will donate one month’s salary to support flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to review relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas.
Focus on service, not politics
PM Shehbaz emphasized that service must come before politics during this crisis. He stated that compensation will be given to families of those who lost their lives, along with support for others affected under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package.
Federal ministers to oversee relief
PM Shehbaz directed all federal ministers to personally supervise relief distribution and rehabilitation operations in the flood-hit regions. He stressed the importance of transparency and timely aid.
NDMA instructed to submit action plan
The Prime Minister instructed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to present a final damage assessment and a detailed aid distribution plan. He also asked the Ministry of Finance to release the required funds immediately.
Medical help on the way
The Ministry of Health has been ordered to dispatch medical teams and supplies to the affected areas. PM Shehbaz wants to ensure that healthcare needs are met without delay.
Extent of damage and rescue efforts
Officials shared that more than 400 rescue operations have been carried out so far. Around 46 relief camps have been set up for displaced families. Property damage is estimated at over Rs125 million.
PM Shehbaz made it clear that ministers will stay on the ground until every affected citizen is helped and basic infrastructure is restored.
The Prime Minister’s timely action aims to bring relief to those suffering and ensure full recovery in the days ahead.
