Motorcyclist Killed After Speeding Bus Accident in Karachi’s Manghopir

A motorcyclist was killed after being run over by a speeding bus near Pukhtoonabad in Karachi’s Manghopir area on Sunday, August 4. According to police, the man was critically injured and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The motorcyclist killed in the Karachi bus incident has added to growing concerns over road safety in the city. Police said the bus driver fled the scene after the accident. However, he was later arrested, and the vehicle was taken into police custody.

Rescue officials reported a string of tragic accidents in Karachi on the same day. At least five people, including a woman, died in five separate traffic incidents. These occurred in areas including Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi, Manghopir, and near Radio Pakistan.

According to 2025 statistics, Karachi has already seen 536 deaths and over 6,000 injuries due to road crashes. The recent Karachi motorcycle accident highlights how urgent the city’s traffic safety crisis has become.

In another case, a dumper truck driver ran over a motorcyclist after reportedly dozing off while driving. The crash was caused by brake failure and steering problems, the driver told police. He was travelling from Sohrab Goth to Qayyumabad when the collision occurred. His license had expired, and he was working long 12-hour shifts.

Two motorcycles were damaged in the dumper crash, one completely and the other partially. The driver, identified as Ejaz, was arrested, and a case has been registered at the Malir City police station.

The Karachi bus accident today has raised new questions about driver fatigue, expired licenses, and vehicle safety checks. Authorities say they are investigating all recent traffic fatalities to determine causes and prevent further loss of life.
