5 Punjab Police Personnel Martyred In Dacoits' Rocket Attack On RYK

Five Punjab Police officers lost their lives in a brutal attack by armed dacoits on the Sheikhani check post in Rahim Yar Khan. Two other officers were injured during the assault.

The attack occurred while seven police personnel were on duty at the post. According to officials, members of the Indhar and Bukhirani gangs carried out the assault. The attackers used rocket launchers and hand grenades to target the check post.

The fallen officers were identified as Irfan, Saleem, Khalil, Ghazanfar, and Nakhil. Three were from Bahawalnagar, while two belonged to Rahim Yar Khan. Their bodies have been shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital for postmortem and further procedures.

Following the attack, the Punjab Police launched a search operation in the area to track down the assailants. Security forces have increased their presence to prevent further violence and protect the local community.

This incident highlights the ongoing threats faced by the Punjab Police in combating organized criminal groups. Authorities have condemned the attack and promised swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Local officials expressed their condolences and assured full support to the families of the martyred officers. They also emphasized the need for stronger security measures in vulnerable regions.
