PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Pakistan's Commitment To End Terrorism

PM Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that Pakistan is fully committed to defeating terrorism in all its forms. He made this statement during a key meeting of the Steering Committee on Counter-Terrorism and the Establishment of the State Authority, held on Thursday in Islamabad.

PM Shehbaz led the meeting, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir. Other participants included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Adviser Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik, and several federal ministers. Chief secretaries and police chiefs from all provinces also joined the session.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz directed federal and provincial authorities to improve coordination. He asked them to fully implement all recommended security measures.

He stated that the international community acknowledges Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism. The prime minister said that a wide-ranging strategy is in place. This includes military operations, legal action, and steps to counter extremist ideologies.

He praised the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their dedication and sacrifice. He highlighted the success of major operations like Radd-ul-Fasaad and Zarb-e-Azb, which have weakened terrorist groups.

The prime minister also noted recent successful actions against smuggling networks. He said these operations have had a positive impact on the economy.

He pointed out that only peace and stability can restore international investor confidence. He also highlighted digital reforms in governance and improvements in the tax system as part of broader development plans.

PM Shehbaz added that the government is cracking down on groups such as Fitnat-ul-Hind and Fitnatul Khawarij. He confirmed that the repatriation of undocumented Afghan nationals is ongoing and proceeding well.

In closing, the prime minister emphasized national unity in the fight against terrorism. He said the people, armed forces, and institutions must stand together to ensure long-term peace.
