Gujar Khan Police Arrest Head Constable

Gujar Khan police have arrested a head constable for allegedly filming women in the toilets of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Officials confirmed on Friday that the suspect is a serving police officer posted at the Lahore office of Punjab Police.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syed Daniyal stated that the arrest followed a resident’s complaint. The individual alleged that the constable had been secretly recording women in the hospital’s restroom areas.

Police detained the suspect at the hospital and seized his mobile phone. During an initial review, several objectionable videos were found. The videos, reportedly showing women using the toilets, have been sent for forensic analysis.

ASP Daniyal added that during the preliminary investigation, police confirmed the suspect was an active head constable. He also revealed the officer had previously been booked in a rape case in 2020. That case, however, was withdrawn after a reconciliation with the victim.

According to Gujar Khan Station House Officer (SHO) Nazeer Ahmed Ghaeba, a case has been registered. Charges include Section 354 and Section 292 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating to acts intended to outrage a woman’s modesty and the circulation of obscene material. SHO Ghaeba assured that the investigation would be impartial and without leniency.

Dr. Sarmad Kiyani, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, confirmed that no surveillance cameras exist inside the toilets. “The cameras are only placed in the hospital corridors,” he said. “The matter is under police investigation.”

The Gujar Khan police arrest head constable case has raised concerns over women’s safety in public institutions. Citizens are urging Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to act against such violations.

This incident follows a pattern of similar cases, including one in Swabi earlier this year and another in Khanewal, where women were filmed in changing rooms.

The Gujar Khan head constable filming hospital toilets case is being closely followed by local authorities and the public alike.
