Bangladesh secured a convincing 7-wicket victory over Pakistan in the opening T20I of the three-match series in Dhaka.
Chasing a modest target of 111, the home side reached the total with ease in just 15.3 overs, losing only three wickets. Parvez Hossain Emon anchored the chase with an unbeaten 56-run knock.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Liton Das elected to bowl after winning the toss. Pakistan’s batting unit struggled, collapsing for 110 in 19.3 overs. Fakhar Zaman fought hard with 44 runs, but lacked support from the rest of the lineup.
Pakistan lost early wickets as Saim Ayub (6), Mohammad Haris (4), captain Salman Ali Agha (3), and Hassan Nawaz (0) fell cheaply. Contributions from Khushdil Shah (17), Abbas Afridi (22), and Faheem Ashraf (5) weren’t enough to stabilize the innings. Three players were run out during the collapse.
Bangladesh’s bowlers were sharp — Taskin Ahmed claimed 3 wickets, Mustafizur Rahman took 2, while Tanzim Hasan and Mehidy Hasan picked up one apiece.
The dominant performance gives Bangladesh a 1-0 advantage in the series
