Rising wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan has addressed and denied recent rumours suggesting he is considering a switch to represent England internationally. The 22-year-old affirmed his commitment to Pakistan amid growing online speculation about a possible move to England’s national cricket team.

The rumours gained traction on social media after unverified claims alleged Haseebullah had met with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) officials. Fueling the speculation was his presence in England and frustration over being excluded from Pakistan’s squads for upcoming series, including Pakistan Shaheens’ tours to England and Australia.

To clear the air, Haseebullah posted an Instagram story stating:
“I’m currently in England due to a domestic county contract and sponsorship duties. I remain fully committed to representing Pakistan with dedication and passion.”

Earlier, Haseebullah had posted cryptic poetic lines in Urdu on Instagram, expressing feelings of injustice and patience. This fueled public speculation that he was unhappy with his continued omission from national teams.

Despite his talent and promise, Haseebullah has struggled to break into Pakistan’s senior squad. With established players like Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan taking the wicketkeeping slots and Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman favored as left-handed batters, Haseebullah has been left on the sidelines. He also saw limited action in PSL X, playing just once for Quetta Gladiators.

At just 22, his chances for future inclusion remain strong, especially as Pakistan undergoes a generational shift in its cricket setup. For now, his focus remains on county cricket and staying prepared for when an opportunity with Pakistan arises.

Haseebullah’s firm denial puts to rest the recent rumors and reaffirms his commitment to the national side.
