Mercedes G-Wagon Becomes Cheaper by Rs. 2 Crore After Budget 2025

In a major relief for luxury car buyers, the prices of used Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon models in Pakistan have dropped by up to Rs. 2 crore following the announcement of Budget 2025.

The federal government’s decision to reduce import duties on used luxury vehicles under Budget 2025 has made high-end SUVs significantly more affordable in the local market. Dealers confirm that the G-Wagon, which was previously priced around Rs. 9–10 crore, is now available in the range of Rs. 7–8 crore depending on the model year and condition.

Auto industry analysts suggest that this move could revive the stagnant luxury car market, which had slowed due to previous high taxes and economic uncertainty.

Buyers who were previously priced out of owning a G-Wagon are now actively entering the market, according to showroom owners in major cities.

There are many different variants offering various types of luxuries:
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class continues its legacy of luxury and rugged off-road performance with significant updates across its lineup, including a new inline-6 mild-hybrid engine, an upgraded AMG V8 variant, and the introduction of a fully electric model — the G 580 with EQ Technology.

 G 550 (Mild-Hybrid Inline-6)

The 2025 G 550 replaces the outgoing V8 with a refined 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 443 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. This setup offers smoother acceleration, improved fuel economy (~18 mpg combined), and responsive performance with a 0–60 mph time of around 5.3 seconds. It features the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission, full-time 4MATIC all-wheel drive, and three locking differentials, maintaining its exceptional off-road credibility.

 AMG G 63 (Performance Hybrid V8)

The AMG G 63 remains the beast of the family, powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 enhanced with mild-hybrid tech, producing a monstrous 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It rockets from 0–60 mph in about 4.2 seconds. This variant offers AMG Ride Control+ adaptive suspension, dynamic drive modes, and a sportier AMG-specific interior. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed transmission, combined with advanced chassis tuning and AMG Performance exhaust, makes the G 63 a blend of brute force and sophisticated control both on- and off-road.

G 580 with EQ Technology (Fully Electric)

The electric G 580 is powered by four individual electric motors — one at each wheel — providing exceptional off-road control through torque vectoring. It generates a combined 579 horsepower and an astonishing 859 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to hit 0–60 mph in around 4.5 seconds. It comes with a 116 kWh battery, offering an estimated EPA range of ~239 miles (WLTP up to ~293 miles), and supports DC fast charging up to 200 kW (10–80% in ~30 minutes). Unique features include G-TURN (tank turn) for tight terrain maneuvers and virtual differential locks thanks to precise motor control. The battery is built into a modified ladder frame for enhanced durability and off-road protection.
