Key Rule Changes:
🔹 Stop-Clock in Tests – To tackle slow over rates, fielding teams must start the next over within 60 seconds of the previous one ending. First two violations = warning, third = 5-run penalty.
🔹 Saliva Rule Modified – While saliva ban remains, umpires won’t change the ball unless visibly altered. If unfair advantage is found, 5 penalty runs to batting side.
🔹 DRS Updates – If a batter is given out caught but DRS shows no bat involved, LBW (if umpire’s call) will still stand as out.
🔹 Combined Appeals Rule – For LBW + run-out reviews, decisions will be processed in order of occurrence for fairness.
🔹 No-Ball & Catch Rule – If a no-ball is called during a catch review, the fairness of the catch will still be checked. Clean catch = no-ball run only | Unfair catch = runs scored before dismissal.
🔹 Stricter Penalty for Short Runs – Deliberate short runs now lead to a 5-run penalty + fielding captain chooses which batter stays on strike.
These changes aim to speed up play, reduce controversies, and enhance fairness in cricket. Which rule change do you think will have the biggest impact? 🏏
