The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $350 million loan package for Pakistan to enhance women’s access to finance and promote economic empowerment. The funding will support the second phase of the “Women Inclusive Finance Sector Development Program.”
According to ADB, the package consists of a $300 million policy-based loan and an additional $50 million in financial assistance. The funds will help expand women’s participation in entrepreneurship and improve access to credit and financial services across the country.

The initiative aims to address barriers women face in the financial sector by providing greater access to credit facilities and financial guarantees, enabling them to start and grow their businesses more effectively.
ADB emphasized that the program is a key component of its broader strategy to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Pakistan, with gender equality at its core. The project aligns with national and international goals of reducing economic disparities and empowering women.
