Saudi authorities have issued a heat advisory ahead of Hajj 2025, warning pilgrims of extreme temperatures that could reach up to 47°C, as reported by Gulf News.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts daytime highs between 40°C and 47°C, and nighttime lows from 27°C to 32°C, with humidity ranging from 15% to 60%. NCM CEO Dr. Ayman Ghulam added that north and northwest winds at 25–35 km/h may cause dust storms, reducing visibility, especially on highways. Thunderstorms could also affect the holy sites between Dhu Al Hijjah 8–13, potentially bringing strong winds and more dust.

Pilgrims are urged to stay hydrated, take protective measures, and follow official weather updates. To ease conditions, Saudi Arabia has introduced initiatives like the cooled pedestrian pathway in Mecca, part of the larger Cooled Roads Initiative.

Over 1.25 million pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom so far, including more than 1.18 million by air. The authorities have deployed advanced systems and multilingual staff to streamline entry procedures.

In a related development, 1,053 pilgrims from 76 countries have arrived under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to hospitality and Islamic unity. The Ministry of Tourism also confirmed that over 1,160 hospitality venues are licensed in Makkah—up 54% from last year—highlighting readiness for the pilgrimage.
