X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a widespread outage on Saturday, making both its website and mobile app inaccessible for users globally.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirmed the disruption but clarified that the issue did not stem from Pakistan’s internet systems. “Our investigation shows no technical faults in the national infrastructure, and all other online services are functioning normally,” said the PTA.

The outage mirrored a similar global disruption that occurred on Thursday, May 22, which lasted several hours before being resolved by the platform.
PTA cited data from internet monitoring group NetBlocks, indicating that the problem was global and not due to any specific local restrictions.
The authority assured users it is actively monitoring the situation and will share updates as necessary.
Reuters reported that tens of thousands of users in the U.S. also faced service issues. According to DownDetector.co.uk, complaints surged from under 100 to more than 11,000 within minutes, with the spike peaking at 1:39 PM.
