The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has announced a temporary suspension of flight operations at Lahore, Sialkot, Karachi, and Islamabad airports until 12pm on Thursday, citing regional tensions and operational considerations. The suspension comes in the wake of escalating security concerns following recent cross-border hostilities with India.
According to officials, the suspension at Lahore and Sialkot airports was directly linked to the current national security environment, while operations at Karachi and Islamabad airports were halted for operational reasons. Passengers have been advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines for updates on flight schedules.

The decision follows Tuesday night’s Indian missile strikes on multiple locations within Pakistan, including cities in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In response, Pakistan’s military reported intercepting and downing five Indian Air Force fighter jets and a combat drone, as well as targeting an Indian brigade headquarters.
Airport authorities have assured that the suspension is a precautionary measure and are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of passengers and crew before resuming normal operations.
