Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Offer Free Hajj Opportunity for Laborers

Workers Welfare Board KP to Sponsor 17 Workers for Hajj

The Workers Welfare Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced that 17 workers from various industries across the province will be sponsored for Hajj this year. According to the newly released annual employee performance report, the government will bear the full expenses for the pilgrimage, amounting to Rs. 18.79 million.

Financial Support Highlights:

The report outlines significant financial initiatives over the past year:

  • Rs. 627.5 million was disbursed to fund higher education for 1,578 workers’ children.
  • Rs. 131 million was distributed as marriage grants to benefit 341 workers.
  • Rs. 30 million was provided as death grants in 44 cases.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a public advisory warning against counterfeit Hajj permits, urging citizens to remain vigilant.

Education Achievements:

The report also highlighted notable achievements in education:

  • 21,587 students have been enrolled in Working Folks Grammar Schools for the academic year 2024-25.
  • Rs. 191.7 million has been allocated for books, uniforms, and transportation for these students.

The Labour Department’s findings revealed outstanding academic results:

  • 94% matriculation success rate, with 1,141 out of 1,220 students passing.
  • In Intermediate exams, 445 out of 464 students succeeded.

The report underscores the government’s continued commitment to supporting workers’ welfare, education, and religious aspirations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
