Several people were killed and many others injured in Vancouver when a vehicle drove into a crowd at a Filipino street festival, according to police.
The incident occurred shortly after 8pm on Saturday in the Sunset on Fraser neighborhood. Authorities confirmed the driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested.

A witness told CTV News that he saw a black car driving erratically before it struck the crowd. Social media footage showed the chaotic aftermath, with victims lying on the road as first responders and bystanders helped the injured.
The victims were rushed to various local hospitals, where medical staff were alerted to expect a large number of casualties. At the time of the incident, thousands were present in the area, The Vancouver Sun reported.
A food truck owner described the scene as devastating after the vehicle plowed through the crowd. “I didn’t see the driver, but I heard the engine rev,” said Yoseb Vardeh, co-owner of the Bao Buns food truck.
