University Student Fatally Shot at Private Hostel in Islamabad

Female Student Shot Dead in Islamabad Hostel: Police Launch Investigation

ISLAMABAD – A 22-year-old female student from the International Islamic University was tragically shot dead in a private hostel on Sunday, in an incident that has shocked the local community.

The fatal shooting occurred within the jurisdiction of Ramna Police Station, prompting an immediate police response.

Suspect Forced Entry into Hostel Room

According to the victim’s brother, Zahid, the suspect—whose identity remains unknown—entered the girls’ hostel at approximately 12:15 PM. The man reportedly confronted his sister in the corridor, forcing her back into her room, where she was staying with three other roommates.

In a horrifying turn of events, the intruder opened fire in front of the roommates, fatally wounding the student. She died on the spot before emergency services could arrive.

Police Investigation Underway

Law enforcement authorities have registered an FIR based on Zahid’s complaint and initiated a full-scale investigation into the incident. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting interviews with hostel residents and staff to trace the suspect’s identity and motive.
