The draft states that Clause 38-A of the ordinance will be updated to include motorcycles alongside vehicles, making fitness certificates compulsory for them as well. These certificates will be valid for one year.
Currently, only vehicles require fitness certification, despite motorcycles accounting for 85% of Punjab’s transport. The amendment aims to broaden the certification system to improve the province’s air quality.
