Two advanced e-passport printers and six desktop printers from Germany have arrived in Karachi to streamline Pakistan’s passport issuance process. A foreign technical team is also present to oversee the installation of these cutting-edge machines.

Director-General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, inspected the e-printers section upon their arrival and received a briefing on the installation process. He emphasized that the newly acquired printers can produce up to 1,000 passports per hour, significantly enhancing efficiency.

Qazi assured that once fully operational, the new printers would accelerate the passport issuance process, providing faster service to applicants. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to delivering world-class passport services.

This upgrade follows last year’s introduction of 10 modern passport printers, which doubled the department’s production capacity from 20,000 to 40,000 passports daily.

The latest additions are expected to further minimize delays, benefiting thousands of Pakistanis, particularly those traveling abroad.
