This marks PM Shehbaz’s second visit to Azerbaijan since taking office in March 2024. Accompanying him is a high-level ministerial delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, and Investment and Privatisation Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

The leaders held a bilateral meeting followed by delegation-level talks, focusing on critical areas such as trade, investment, energy cooperation, defence collaboration, and joint initiatives to address climate change. The discussions aimed to foster deeper ties across a range of sectors and reinforce the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

During the visit, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to promote economic and strategic partnerships. These agreements are expected to boost trade, enhance energy cooperation, and support cultural and diplomatic exchanges between the nations.

PM Shehbaz will also participate in the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum, where business leaders from both countries will discuss potential joint ventures and investment opportunities, particularly in sectors like energy, manufacturing, and technology.

With shared global and regional interests, the visit is expected to further strengthen the already close ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, while advancing their economic and strategic cooperation for mutual benefit.
