Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting the overseas community, stating, “The government and the nation salute the overseas Pakistanis.” He emphasized the positive impact of their investments on the national economy, including driving up property prices as they made real estate purchases.

Assuring the community of his commitment, the Prime Minister acknowledged ongoing efforts to address long-standing issues, especially related to property disputes. He mentioned that the overseas department in Punjab, under the chief minister’s leadership, was actively working to resolve these concerns. He further pledged that he would continue working tirelessly until overseas Pakistanis received their rightful support.

In a significant announcement, Sharif revealed plans to issue blue passports to overseas Pakistanis, granting them greater recognition and privileges. He also promised the immediate restoration of the Green Channel initiative, which was introduced by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to streamline procedures for the diaspora. “We will not allow the Green Channel to turn into yellow or red,” he assured.

On national security, the PM condemned previous governments for their leniency toward terrorism, asserting that Pakistan had eradicated terrorism by 2018, thanks to the sacrifices of 80,000 Pakistanis. He criticized the decision to allow terrorists back into the country, calling it an act of betrayal. However, he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to combating terrorism, vowing, “Terrorism will be buried again, and this land will be made safe.”

Shehbaz Sharif also expressed strong support for youth engagement, announcing plans for a Youth Festival in collaboration with the information minister.

With over 10 million Pakistanis living abroad, the Prime Minister’s speech underscored the crucial role the diaspora plays in shaping the future of Pakistan.
