A sharp rise in stray dog attack cases has been reported in Karachi during the first 25 days of January 2025.
Dr. Romana Farhat, head of the Rabies Clinic, stated that Civil Hospital alone has recorded over 2,000 dog bite cases, averaging 150 cases per day. Similarly, Jinnah Hospital reported 1,500 cases within the same period.

Health experts stress the importance of immediately washing bite wounds with soap and ensuring that victims receive anti-rabies vaccines and complete the prescribed treatment course to prevent complications.
Adding to the concern, stray dogs have been spotted near critical areas of Jinnah International Airport, including entrances, exits, and passenger zones, raising alarm over public safety.
Passengers have expressed concerns to authorities about the growing stray dog presence, urging immediate action to address the safety risks at the airport and across the city.
