Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Khan, strongly condemned the Israeli military’s renewed attacks in Gaza, which have continued despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement. In his weekly briefing, Khan reiterated Pakistan’s firm opposition to any escalation of violence in the region, urging a full adherence to the ceasefire.
Khan also provided updates on a tragic boat capsizing incident off the coast of Morocco, which occurred last week. Fortunately, 22 Pakistanis survived the disaster, and their identities have been disclosed by local authorities. The Foreign Office confirmed that the situation is under close monitoring, with Moroccan authorities being cooperative in handling the aftermath of the incident.

On the Gaza conflict, the spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the ceasefire, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to restoring livability in Gaza and standing against Israeli military actions during the ceasefire period. Additionally, Khan addressed questions regarding Afghan nationals in Pakistan, clarifying that there are no changes planned for the country’s existing policies on Afghan refugees.
