The Pakistan Cricket Board is currently finalizing the squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, amid the ankle injury of opener Saim Ayub. Though Ayub is expected to recover in time for the tournament, his injury has prompted selectors to consider replacements.

Fakhar Zaman is reportedly being considered as Ayub’s replacement in the 15-member Champions Trophy squad. Imam-ul-Haq and Haseebullah are also under consideration, with their inclusion depending on the team’s final decision. Meanwhile, out-of-form players Abdullah Shafique and Usman Khan may be left out of the squad.

The final squad for the Champions Trophy must be announced by February 11, just ahead of the tri-series, which is set to begin on February 8.
