Confusion arose among parents and students after a fake notification circulated online, claiming holidays were extended until January 18, 2025, due to extreme weather conditions.

Addressing the rumors spreading on WhatsApp and other social media platforms, Secretary of Education Khalid Nazir Watoo dismissed reports of an extension, confirming that the circulating notifications are false.
Watoo assured that schools will reopen as planned on Monday, January 13, 2025, and urged parents to avoid relying on unofficial sources for information. He stressed that all official updates are shared only through the Education Department’s verified social media channels.
He further advised parents and stakeholders to follow the official “School Education Department Punjab” page for accurate and timely updates.
