Pakistan Crushes Bangladesh to Win Blind T20 World Cup Title

Pakistan’s blind cricket team achieved a historic milestone by winning their first-ever Blind T20 World Cup, defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the final held in Multan on December 3, 2024. Bangladesh, after batting first, posted 139/7 in their 20 overs, with Areef Hussain top-scoring with 54 runs. Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the game, with Babar Ali leading by taking two wickets, while Mohammad Salman and Matiullah each claimed one.

Pakistan’s reply was swift and dominant, as they chased the 140-run target in just 11 overs without losing a wicket. Nisar Ali shone with an unbeaten 72, supported by Mohammad Safdar’s 47 not out, sealing a comfortable victory and clinching the title.

This victory is particularly significant as it marks Pakistan’s first title in the Blind T20 World Cup. The tournament had previously been dominated by India, who won all three prior editions. Pakistan’s win broke this streak and delivered a memorable triumph on home soil.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the team for their outstanding performance, praising the contributions of Nisar Ali and Mohammad Safdar. He also acknowledged the efforts of the management and expressed hope for continued success in the future.
