The Ministry of Commerce is actively working to expand international markets for Pakistani honey products. The Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has played a key role in connecting Pakistani exporters with Malaysian businesses, paving the way for this fruitful collaboration.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Thriving Honey Industry

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is at the heart of Pakistan’s honey production, contributing 20,000 tons annually through 60,000 honey farms. This robust industry supports the livelihoods of 1.6 million individuals, with its well-established infrastructure of bee clusters and processing facilities.

To bolster the sector, experts are exploring investments in advanced processing technologies and bee cluster development. Additionally, a proposal to establish a dedicated “Honey Board” is under review to enhance export capabilities and streamline industry growth.

SIFC’s Role in Economic Growth

This successful export initiative underscores the efforts of SIFC to drive Pakistan’s economic progress through strategic agricultural trade. With continued focus on strengthening its honey production and export infrastructure, Pakistan is poised to expand its presence in the global market.
