The federal government announced on Thursday that Sindh police officers will be deployed to support law enforcement efforts ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest in Islamabad on November 24 (Sunday).
Over 1,350 officers from various training centers across Sindh will be sent to reinforce security measures and prevent any untoward incidents. These officers will be equipped with anti-riot gear, including 1,000 long-range and 1,000 short-range shells.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was revealed that the federal government had also decided to deploy Rangers to manage the protest. According to reports, the Islamabad chief commissioner had requested the Ministry of Interior to authorize the deployment of Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
Both the Rangers and FC will operate under the powers granted by the Anti-Terrorism Act to maintain law and order during the event.
