Cricket Australia (CA) has named wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe as the replacement for the injured Cooper Connolly in the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. Connolly, who fractured his left hand during the third ODI in Perth while facing a delivery from Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain, will be sidelined for the series. He fractured his fourth metacarpal and will consult with a specialist to determine the next steps for his recovery.

Philippe, who has been in good form in the One Day Cup, will join the Australian squad in Brisbane, where preparations for the three-match series are underway. Philippe’s inclusion adds depth and experience behind the stumps as Australia faces a strong Pakistani side.
The first T20I between Australia and Pakistan is set to take place on November 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane.
