Japanese artist Yasuhiro Suzuki has designed a unique zipper boat that sails down Tokyo’s Sumida River. The vessel creates the illusion of “unzipping” the water as it moves along.
The boat’s journey along the river, especially between the Azumabashi and Sakurabashi bridges, serves as a visual metaphor for opening up the river. It adds an artistic touch to the urban landscape, engaging onlookers with its creative design.

Suzuki was inspired to bring this vision to life after observing the river from above, where he imagined a zipper effect unsealing the water’s surface.
