The Israeli military launched airstrikes on Iranian military locations following a significant attack from Tehran, raising fears of war between the two nations. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that these strikes were a direct response to recent Iranian assaults, which included approximately 200 missiles fired at Israel on October 1.
Reports indicated strong explosions in and around Tehran and in Karaj, Alborz, which Iranian TV suggested might be linked to the activation of air defense systems. However, there were no immediate reports of missile activity over Tehran. Iran has consistently warned Israel against military actions, threatening severe retaliation for any attacks. As with previous strikes, Israel informed the U.S. about its operations but did not involve them in the execution.
