NEPRA Reduces Electricity Tariff by Rs0.86 per Unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Author (NEPRA) has approved an 86 paisa per unit reduction in the monthly fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for August 2024.

During a hearing on the FCA for August, NEPRA granted the decrease, following a request from the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) which had proposed a reduction of 57 paisa per unit.

Previously, July’s FCA had a 37 paisa per unit reduction, reflected in August bills. NEPRA announced that August’s FCA would charge consumers 49 paisa less per unit than July, with the relief to be provided in October and November bills.

This adjustment will apply to all distribution company consumers, except lifeline and prepaid users, electric vehicle charging stations, and K-Electric consumers.
