Preparations for Justice Yahya Afridi’s swearing-in ceremony as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan are underway. The Presidency has officially reached out to the Supreme Court to coordinate the event’s arrangements, including the guest list.

Sources indicate that the ceremony is expected to accommodate between 250 and 300 esteemed guests. The Supreme Court has been requested to provide the finalized guest list by tomorrow.

The President of Pakistan has formally approved Justice Yahya Afridi’s appointment as the new Chief Justice following Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s retirement on Friday, October 25.

The recommendation to appoint Justice Afridi as the next Chief Justice was made by a special parliamentary committee earlier this week.
