[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]JAKARTA: The country’s geophysics department reported a 6.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred near the Tanimbar islands of Indonesia on Thursday, adding that there was no threat of a tsunami. According to the agency, the earthquake’s epicentre was 97 kilometres deep (60.27 miles). It was situated 543 kilometres southeast of Ambon, the Maluku nation’s capital.

There were no initial reports of damage or injuries brought on by the earthquake, and a BNPB spokeswoman could not be reached for comment. The “Pacific Ring of Fire,” a seismically active region where various plates of the Earth’s crust collide and frequently produce earthquakes, crosses Indonesia.
