During his resilient innings, Kohli became the fourth Indian cricketer to surpass 9000 Test runs, joining legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar. However, he holds the record as the slowest Indian to reach the milestone, achieving it in 197 innings.

Other Indian batters who crossed 9000 Test runs are Rahul Dravid, who achieved it in 176 innings, Sachin Tendulkar in 179, and Sunil Gavaskar in 192. Kohli’s accomplishment came in 2024, solidifying his place among India’s Test greats.
With 9017 Test runs at an average of 48.74, Kohli has scored 29 centuries and 31 fifties, with his highest score being 254* against South Africa in 2019. By Day 4, India had reached 344/3, trailing New Zealand by just 12 runs as rain continued to interrupt play.
