Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan have not been included in the race for Oxford University’s chancellorship. The university has released a list of candidates competing for this prestigious position, which holds traditional and symbolic significance.
The candidates for the chancellorship include former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, prominent British architect Sir Norman Foster, and well-known barrister Peter Craig. These notable figures add to the competitive nature of the selection process.

Recently, PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari disclosed that lobbying firms had been hired to bolster Imran Khan’s campaign for the Chancellor role at Oxford. He emphasized that there should be no concern over the use of lobbying firms, asserting that no funds were taken for this initiative.
However, local media reported that a well-known legal firm, Matrix Chambers, has stated that Imran Khan does not fulfill the university’s eligibility criteria for the chancellorship position.
This opinion from Matrix Chambers further complicates Khan’s prospects in the race, as eligibility requirements play a critical role in determining candidates for such esteemed positions.
