OpenAI is set to introduce “Strawberry,” a new reasoning-focused AI model, as part of its ChatGPT service in the next two weeks, according to The Information. This new model, which has been tested by a few individuals, is designed to enhance conversational AI by incorporating a deeper level of reasoning, allowing it to “think” before providing responses.

Unlike other models that deliver immediate answers, Strawberry aims to offer more thoughtful and considered replies. While it will initially handle only text and not images, it represents a novel approach in AI development. The model will be part of ChatGPT but offered as a standalone service.

This development comes as OpenAI continues to gain momentum in the AI space, bolstered by substantial investments and strong user adoption, especially in its business products. The company has seen a significant rise in paying users, aided by its advanced large language models.

Both Microsoft and OpenAI have not yet commented on the specifics of Strawberry’s release or its features.
