Known for his meticulous approach and often referred to as Mr. Perfectionist, the rumors intensified after an interview with his son, Junaid Khan, who is making his film debut in the Netflix film Maharaj.

Junaid revealed that his father is contemplating retirement, which motivated him to officially start his own career in the film industry. He shared that his experiences working behind the camera on films such as PK and in advertising had given him a solid understanding of film production. According to Junaid, Aamir Khan’s suggestion to consider taking over after his retirement was a pivotal moment for him. He expressed his belief that he has gained significant insight into the challenges of film production and is ready to step into a more prominent role.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is reportedly working on a sequel to his acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par. The superstar has faced a challenging period in his career with recent box-office failures. Thugs of Hindostan (2018) and Laal Singh Chaddha both fell short of expectations, adding to the speculation about his future in the film industry.
