Paris Olympics: Kishmala Talat and Gulfam Joseph Finish 14th in 10m Air Pistol Event

In the mixed 10m Air Pistol team event at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre on Monday, Pakistan’s Kishmala Talat and Gulfam Joseph finished 14th with a score of 571-17x. They had practiced for the event on Sunday afternoon. This marked their third appearance at the Games, having previously competed in the 10m women’s and 10m men’s air pistol events, where they finished 31st and 22nd, respectively.

In the mixed team event, Turkey’s Sevval Ilayda Tarhan and Yusuf Dikec led the qualification round with a score of 582-18x, matching the Olympic qualification record. They will compete for the gold medal against Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec, who scored 581-24x.

India’s Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot, as part of the India 1 team, qualified for the bronze medal match with a total score of 580-20x. They will face the Republic of Korea 1 team, comprising Jin Ye Oh and Wonho Lee, who scored 579-18x.

The top four teams from the qualification round advance to the next stage. The Gold/Silver Medal Match will feature the top two teams, while the Bronze Medal Match will include the teams in third and fourth positions. The finals will be held on July 30.

Looking ahead, Pakistan’s coach is optimistic about future performances. Talat will compete in the rapid-fire sports pistol event on August 2, and Ghulam Muhammad Bashir will participate in the rapid-fire pistol event on August 4.
