Fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the Pakistan Shaheens’ Darwin tour due to a back injury. Dahani will miss the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’ and the white-ball segment of the tour, which includes two one-day games and the Top End T20 Series. The 25-year-old, who took four wickets against Bangladesh ‘A’ in the first four-day match, will return to Pakistan for assessment and rehabilitation.

Spin-bowling all-rounder Mubasir Khan has been added to the white-ball squad as Dahani’s replacement. Khurram Shahzad, initially scheduled to return after the two four-day matches, will now be available for the one-day games against Northern Territory Strike and Bangladesh ‘A’ on August 4 and 6, respectively.

In other cricket news, West Indies all-rounder Kevin Sinclair has been ruled out of the third Test against England at Edgbaston. Sinclair sustained a forearm fracture from a delivery by Mark Wood during the second Test at Trent Bridge. Sinclair’s injury occurred when Wood’s delivery struck his wristband before being caught in the slip cordon, contributing to West Indies’ collapse from 61 without loss to 143 all out, with England winning by 241 runs and taking a 2-0 series lead.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite confirmed that Gudakesh Motie would return to the side, though the final XI has yet to be determined due to fast bowler Shamar Joseph’s flu.
