Heavy machinery was required to remove the car from beneath the tanker, with rescuers struggling due to a large crowd of onlookers. Traffic police closed the bridge from Qayyumabad to Baloch Colony to assist in the rescue, which took three hours.

The tanker, which was carrying kerosene oil, posed a fire risk, and the fire brigade was present throughout the operation. The driver of the tanker fled the scene after the incident. Once the tanker was emptied of its cargo, it was finally removed, and the body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
