The PTA denies giving any concessions to LDI companies regarding their pending dues

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has clarified that it never granted any exemptions to long-distance international (LDI) companies for outstanding dues. The PTA’s statement was in response to a news report claiming that Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, had reversed exemptions worth billions of rupees previously granted to LDI companies by the Ministry of IT & Telecom and the PTA.

The PTA emphasized that it did not grant any such exemptions and instead requested the Ministry of IT to renegotiate with LDI operators for the full payment of outstanding dues. The PTA is working closely with the Ministry of IT on the license renewal process and is committed to supporting the recovery of these outstanding dues.
