Sahibzada Farhan has been appointed as the captain of Pakistan Shaheens for their upcoming two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’ in Darwin, Australia from July 19 to 29. At 28 years old, Farhan has represented Pakistan in five T20Is and boasts a strong first-class record with 4,401 runs in 58 matches, including eight centuries and 27 half-centuries.
The Pakistan Shaheens squad will also compete in two 50-over matches and participate in a nine-team T20 tournament during the tour. The captain for the white-ball series will be announced later. The 15-member red-ball Shaheens squad will depart from Karachi via Dubai on Saturday. Spinner Faisal Akram has been included in place of injured fast bowler Hunain Shah for the tour.

Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s red-ball head coach, will accompany the team to Darwin. After the conclusion of the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’ on July 29, Gillespie will return to Pakistan to prepare for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
