Shah expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the four southern states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the party’s aim to secure a substantial number of seats in these regions.

In the previous election, the BJP secured 29 out of the 109 seats in these states, with the bulk coming from Karnataka. However, the party failed to win seats in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and was also unsuccessful in Kerala. Despite this, the BJP has set an ambitious target of winning over 370 seats nationwide, including those from its strongholds in the Hindi heartland.

To achieve this target, the BJP will need to improve its performance in South India significantly, especially considering that it lacks significant alliances in the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the party have been actively campaigning in the southern states to bolster support.

Shah highlighted the growing popularity of Prime Minister Modi in South India and expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. However, he acknowledged that the BJP’s vote share in some southern states had fluctuated in recent years, indicating the challenges the party faces in the region.

Overall, Shah remains optimistic about the BJP’s performance in South India and believes that the party’s increasing presence and appeal will lead to a strong showing in the upcoming elections.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
