PTI Reveals Lahore Election Candidates, Check Details

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On Friday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), currently grappling with various challenges, unveiled its candidates for multiple National Assembly seats in Lahore and other cities in anticipation of the upcoming elections. Despite facing a significant crackdown, the party meticulously selected individuals to represent them across diverse constituencies.

In the preliminary announcement of names, PTI categorically dismissed any seat adjustment plans. The party disclosed candidates for 233 out of the 266 general seats in the National Assembly.

For the key provincial capital, Lahore, PTI strategically chose candidates such as Aliya Hamza, Wasim Qadir, Latif Khosa, and Afzal Azim to vie for seats in various constituencies. In NA-126 and NA-127, Karamat Khokhar and Zaheer Abbas emerged as contenders, while seasoned politician Mian Azhar was nominated for NA-129. Notably, PTI’s prominent figure, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, also known as the party’s ‘iron lady,’ secured a ticket for NA-130, where she will face off against PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif.

Despite these announcements, PTI has yet to reveal its candidates for NA-117, NA-119, NA-120, and NA-125.

The list of PTI’s election candidates extends beyond Lahore. Gohar Khan, the newly appointed Chairman of PTI, is set to contest from NA-10 in Buner. Sher Afzal Marwat is PTI’s choice for NA-41 in Lakki Marwat, while Ayaz Amir has been granted a ticket for NA-58 in Chakwal. In Swat’s NA-4, PTI’s contender is Murad Saeed, and former minister Omar Ayub Khan is set to compete for NA-18 in Haripur.

Other nominations include Asad Qaiser for NA-19 in Swabi, Ali Muhammad Khan for NA-23 in Mardan-III, Shahryar Afridi for NA-35 in Kohat, and Ali Amin Gandapur for NA-44 in DI Khan-I.

Despite the challenges faced by PTI, the party’s strategic candidate selection and distribution across various constituencies underscore its determination to actively participate in the upcoming elections.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
