New Zealand Welcomes 2024 As The Remaining World Readies

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]New Zealand commenced its New Year’s celebrations on Sunday, marking the beginning of 2024. Enthusiastic onlookers gathered to witness a spectacular fireworks display from the Auckland Sky Tower and the Harbour Bridge in the capital city.

New Zealand is among the first countries to welcome the New Year. However, according to National Geographic, Kiritimati Island in Kiribati, also known as Christmas Island, holds the distinction of being the first territory to enter the new year, making it the initial location to do so.

At 10 GMT, or 3:00 PM according to Pakistan Standard Timing (PST), the island welcomed 2024 earlier in the day, with New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and South Korea following suit.

The world is divided into 24 major time zones, allowing New Year’s celebrations to unfold throughout the day. The island states of American Samoa and Niue, situated in the South Pacific southwest of Kiribati, will be the final locations to welcome 2024.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
