Renowned Kashmiri Leader Prof Shawl Passes Away

Professor Shawl, a global voice for the people of IIOJK, passed away on Friday at the age of 77 following a brief illness, with kidney failure identified as the primary cause. His commitment to the Kashmir liberation struggle earned him praise, with many acknowledging him not just as a political figure but as an intellectual force committed to justice and freedom.

Speakers, including AJK assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar and President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK Fahim Kayani, expressed deep shock and sorrow at the untimely death of Professor Shawl. The funeral prayers were attended by various dignitaries, including Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in the UK Dr. Faisal Aziz Ahmed, Lord Qurban Hussain, and other leaders from Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and Europe.

In Islamabad and Muzaffarabad, political figures, including Hanif Abbasi and Shah Ghulam Qadir, mourned the loss of Professor Shawl, recognizing him as a fearless advocate for human rights and a beacon for the Kashmir cause.
